Congratulations Andrew. Your story confirms once again, that mild-discomfort is an incredible driver of creativity and success.

That said, nothing can distract from what is obviously a reward for your incredible persistence, hard work and talent.

I'm sure there are many more of these to come for you.

“…you know I’m mostly a rock writer, right? For Rolling Stone, and stuff?”

I just puked in my mouth a little bit.

Andrew we congratulate you once again for a job well done. Often the best work is created under duress and pressure. By accepting a topic out of your 'comfort zone' you obviously grew enormously in literary stature. No pun intended here, but you grasped the raging bull by the horns and pulled out all stops for those hectic few days of research and feature article creation. I'm sure it was a roller-coaster ride that scared as well as exhilarated you to the core.

We can only imagine the adrenalin that drove you to finally reach the complete copy that you proudly submitted. Along the way the professional contact that you made with editors, writers, artist and so on will be invaluable in your next phase of your literary life. We commend the editor of Review for offering you 'a big chance'. We feel that her gamble on an unknown writer, who was often pitching ideas to make a break-through step in their career was the passion that drove you. I can appreciate her surprise when she realized after publication how young you were years but how educated and experienced you were in people skills, research drive and the art of pulling your thoughts and words together. As avid readers of your work and as your parents we swell with pride at your amazing metamorphosis in such a short space of time. Best wishes Andrew we eagerly await your next fine words.
